Andrew Newkirk Boney

Andrew N. Boney, 86, of South Hill, VA passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015.He was born April 8, 1928 in Isle of Wright, VA to the late Dewey and Florence Boney.After a brief and early stint in the U.S. Army, Andrew realized his calling to serve his country.He enlisted as a seaman in the U.S. Merchant Marines and went on to serve a dedicated and honorable career of 48 years until his retirement. Andrew is survived by his wife, Jane Cramer Boney, of South Hill.He was much admired by his friends and is further survived by the loving faith community of Ephesus Baptist Church.A memorial service will be held in his honor at Ephesus Baptist Church on Sunday, April 12, 2015.In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to Ephesus Baptist Church at 1642 Smith Cross Rd. South Hill, VA 23970.
