Ann Lorraine Bowers Corelle, 90, widow of George N. Corelle, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at her home.She was born April 4, 1924 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Robert Burnley Bowers and Ida May Robinson Bowers.George and Ann owned and operated Belle Bakery in Richmond for many years prior to moving to South Boston in 1966, where they owned and operated Von’s Motel and Restaurant, until their retirement in 1972.She and her husband flew in their plane to various places in the US and Caribbean and traveled all over the world.Ann had many passions which included her love of chocolate, clothes and shopping, and reading.She loved her family and friends deeply and being a generous person, was always ready and willing to help others.Mrs. Corelle is survived by her children, son, Robert Dale Corelle of Argentina, daughter, Charlotte Ann Corelle of Portland, Oregon, son, Ralph Edward Corelle of the home, and grandsons, George Adolf and Henry Corelle.Cremation Society of Virginia-Southside is caring for the Corelle family.Private services for Mrs. Corelle will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to:Fresenius Medical Care South Boston, 2043 Hamilton Blvd. South Boston, Va.24592, with“In Memory of Ann Corelle” on the memo line.
