Bessie Jean Holmes Fuentes

Bessie Jean Holmes Fuentes of Brodnax, VA, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023, at the age of 72. Born in Norfolk, VA on November 1, 1950, she was the daughter of the late James Holmes and Annie Crenshaw Holmes and was married to Alexander Fuentes, Jr., who survives. She loved upcycling furniture, listening to music and doing yardwork. Bessie was loved by everyone and she never met a stranger. She will be remembered as a kind and generous woman who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need.

In addition to her husband, Bessie is survived by her 3 children Curtis Quick, Remos Quick, and Herschell Tisdale; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Ronnie Quick.
