Glen Miller Jr.

Glen Miller, Jr of Clarksville passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the age of 74.  Born in North Carolina on April 8, 1950, he was the son of the late Glen Miller Sr. and the late Betty Jo Ledford Miller.  He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Polly Mason Miller.

Glen was a devoted husband & awesome father, doting & fun "Pops" to the biggest joys in his life, his grandchildren.  He served his country in the United States Army Special Forces during the Vietnam era, May of 1969 until January of 1972. He received many decorations & awards, including National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 device, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation Badge; Marksman Badge w/ Rifle Bar and overseas Service Bars.  Glen was a paramedic, having served for 25 years in Durham County, NC and was one of the first members. After retiring from Durham County, Glen continued to serve his community by helping others with his employment at Lowes.

He is survived by his wife, Polly; daughter, Miranda Leigh Hackley (J.R. Clark); son, Corey Jess Miller (Brittany); grandchildren, Devin Hackley & Charlotte Hackley; sisters, Janice, Marlene & Shirley and brothers, Charles & Terry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Rock Spring Baptist Church in Townsville.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
