James Theodore Schulz

James Theordore Schulz, 89, left this earthly life on Sunday, March 23, 2025 in South Boston, VA. He was born April 22, 1935 in Alexandria, VA to the late Theodore and Helen Bruntsch Schulz. He was married to his late wife Jo-Ellen Zeigler Schulz for 58 years.

He was raised on a large dairy farm in Loudon County, VA, and graduated from Leesburg High school and then attended Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania, where he was on the rifle team. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years, where he was often out to sea in the Pacific Ocean. He had a successful career with the National Weather Service and retired in 1991. He enjoyed friends, fishing, camping, analyzing clouds, working on projects, and storytelling.

James is survived by daughter Beth Schulz Howard & son-in-law Dennis Howard of Warrenton, VA,; granddaughter Erin Elizabeth Howard of Fairfax, VA, and brother John O Schulz of Berryville, VA.

A memorial Service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 515 Yancey Street, South Boston, Va on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Trinity Episcopal Church Benevolence Fund or The Good Samaritan in South Boston, VA.
