Jean Elizabeth Hall

Jean Elizabeth Seay Hall, 90, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017. Jean was born on March 7, 1927 in Richmond to the late Florian Sylvester and Julia Taylor Seay. She was the widow of Charles Nelson Hall. Jean loved cooking at Bon Air Baptist Church on Wednesday nights and doing for others in need whenever she could. While she was able, Jean volunteered at the South Hill Community Memorial Hospital working the gift shop and was part of the Drewry women’s group that helped support the local fire department and provide Thanksgiving meals to a local adult home. Jean is survived by her daughters, Julia (Mac) McInturf and Virginia Hall; sister, Sara Fisher: granddaughters, Erin Matzen (Joe) and Leslie McInturf; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Rebecca Matzen. She was predeceased by her husband Charles in 2014. A graveside memorial service will be held on August 26,(time TBA),at Westhampton Memorial Garden, 10000 Patterson Ave., Richmond, VA 23238 officiated by Reverend Lee Ellison. The family offers special thanks to the caregivers at Pine View Assisted Living in South Hill and Sentara Meadowview Terrace in Clarksville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or a charity of choice.
