Littleton, NC The world will not long remember the passing of Lavern F. “Pete” Pipho on January 5, 2016 except for those who knew and loved him.Retired from the US Navy and now this life, he shares with them these thoughts: To my wife, who gave me 69 years of joyous marriage, know the satisfaction of having brought joy and fulfillment to me in my lifetime.Although I shared in pride, I attribute to you the successful nurturing role as the presiding parent of our children during my sustained absences, each who has remained a source of continued pride and pleasure. You have fulfilled your position as wife and mother admirably and I loved you for the role you played in our lives. To John, the eldest, though on opposite coasts, your constant optimism in adversity, wit and wide ranging interests has been a source of delight in our gatherings. To Steve and his wife, Debbie, whose wisdom and thoughtfulness have been cheerfully available whatever our need. To Patty, I cherished that special filial relationship we were fortunate to experience to the fullest.I’m grateful to have known it. To all the grandchildren who have continued the tradition of loving and respecting parents, grandparents and each other, you have all been a continuous source of pleasure.I loved you all. So to all, do not grieve.Death has limitations and I live within each of you until all memories of me fade.May they remain fresh and a comfort.
