Loyd Allen Washburn

Loyd Allen Washburn, age 86, of Henderson, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October
26, 2024, at Maria Parham Hospital. He was born on October 8, 1938, in Arkansas. He was
preceded in death by his parents and many siblings.

He enlisted in the Army, where he served with Linda’s brother and saw a picture of Linda, leading them to begin exchanging letters. Upon returning from service, he came to North Carolina and began courting her. They were married in August of 1963. Loyd had many talents such as playing the banjo and guitar, he enjoyed doing things for others and never expected anything in return. He loved deer hunting and playing golf with his many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Washburn; daughter, Teresa W. Norwood; granddaughter,
Tabitha Le Blue (Brian); grandson, Kenneth Norwood (Cristina); three great-grandsons, Robert
Howard, Jacob Norwood, and Malikai Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends following the service on Thursday in the fellowship hall of Tabernacle Methodist Church of Townsville.
